Martin ScorseseName of Martin Scorsese is associated with the so-called new American wave. In the late 60's the directors of this direction (FF Coppola, George Lucas, S. Spielberg) set a number of tasks which, in their opinion, were not simply draw the viewer in the cinema, but also show new possibilities of cinema compared to the golden years of Hollywood. Unlike his colleagues, who remember the ideals of three decades ago as nothing but a smile, Scorsese is still trying to work at the intersection of fashionable trends and copyright movies. Martin Scorsese was born on November 17, 1942, Flushing, Long Island, New York, U.S. Parents of the future director are a fervent Catholic. Martin, with three years suffered from asthma and have been sitting at home for a weeks. Devout Catholic, Scorsese was going to become a priest, and even entered the seminary, but dropped out for the prestigious film school at New York University. The first theme of Scorsese's films usually becomes a life on the streets, movies get in a mode of improvisation, the author's reflection, but very soon the viewpoint of the protagonist no longer coincide with those of the author. In 1973, Scorsese takes "Mean Streets", the next year puts "Alice Does not Live Here Anymore" and, finally, the film that made him world name - "Taxi Driver" with Robert De Niro in the starring role, won at the Cannes Film Festival 1976 Grand Prix. Prior to 1980, Martin Scorsese, with mixed success trying to "fit" in the races. But the musical "New York, New York" is too historical, biopic "Raging Bull" - too philosophical, a film adaptation of the novel Nikos Kazantzakis' Last Temptation of Christ raises a strong wave of resentment being totally unfair, because, as experience has shown that almost all the detractors did not see the movie. But for Catholic Scorsese such arranged obstruction became like a shock. Subsequent films become colder emotionally, they are insanely beautiful, professional and above reproach, but not always cause a desire to empathize. In 1997, the director put the epic tape "Kundun" - the plight of the Dalai Lama, and in 1999 the novel by Joe Connelly, he took drama "Bringing Out the Dead" with Nicolas Cage in the lead role.
