Richard DonnerAmerican film director and producer Richard Donner was born on April 24, 1930 in the Bronx, New York, USA in a Jewish family. His real name - Richard Donner Schwartzberg, parents - Hatti and Fred Schwartzberg. In the fifties, Donner was a theater actor, and then began to work directing commercials, dramas and serials. His first film, low-budget war drama "X-15" (1962), in which the primary role played by Charles Bronson, did not bring him success, and he returned to television work. In 1976, Richard Donner made the film "The Omen", followed in 1978 should hit - "Superman". In 1984 he debuted as a producer. Academy of science fiction movies, fantasy and horror films nominated U.S. Donner prize for "Saturn" as the best producer for the film "Superman" (1978), and in 2000 awarded an honorary President's Award. Similarly honorary prize was awarded to Richard Donner film festival in Hollywood (2000). And in 2006 he was awarded an honorary Golden Satellite “named after Nikola Tesla”.
